  • Reigning Juvenile National Champions in the previous year
  • Athletes who participated in the Youth World Championships

Pathway #2 – Provincial or Territorial Qualification

All other athletes will need to qualify for National Championships by following this provincial or territorial process:

  • Guaranteed PTSO Quotas (Top X): Each Province and Territory will receive a fixed number of quota spots for National Championships. The fixed number of quotas will be determined according to the capacity of the host center
  • PTSO Quotas for the Youth Combined Regional Championships (Y Quotas): Each province and territory will receive a fixed number of quota places for the Regional Championships. The fixed number of quotas will be determined according to the capacity of the host center. Unused quotas in this category will be reallocated to other provinces in the same region using a membership size priority system.
  • Quotas at Regional Championships for National Championships (Top Z): The best athletes in each category at the Regional Championships will advance to the National Championships. The fixed number of quotas will be determined according to the capacity of the host center
  • Each province and territory has the autonomy to decide how they will fill these quotas. CEC strongly recommends the organization of a fair competition to qualify athletes fairly
